White Ink Continued
Today, I searched one more time for white ink. To foreshadow the outcome a bit for you, I am frustrated at Bic.
After church, I decided that I would head up to Staples or Office Depot on the way home, as they weren’t too far out of the way and it’d save me a bit of time, instead of having to go out of the way later. I got to Staples a little after ten to realize that they didn’t open until eleven. That is definitely my type of luck. Right?
I preceded to Office Depot, and my luck was the same, so I decided that I would waste about an hour of time enjoying myself in Barnes & Noble. I probably shouldn’t have done that, because I like Barnes & Noble far too much and ended up purchasing two books. I am, once again, poor.
I read a few books, and looked around for a while and when it was eleven o’clock, I bought my two books and headed for Office Depot.
Guess what? Office Depot does not have a white ink gel pen. I kept myself level, and decided certainly Staples, being the Office Supply monster, would have a white ink pen. I headed to Staples and was searching all over the pen aisle for a white ink gel pen (at this point, I didn’t even care if it was gel, I just wanted white). I could not find one, so I found someone and asked her if she knew if they carried white ink pens. She had no idea, so she called the manager over, who immediately brought me back to the pen aisle and within a matter of seconds had grabbed a white ink pen. I was thrilled, I said thank you, and inspected the pen a little closer.
It cost five dollars. I really didn’t care at this point, and was more than happy to purchase whatever would spit out white ink. It wasn’t any normal pen either… It was a pen where you had to prime it by unplugging its plug, inserting a small pen tip, and shaking crazily until the tip was saturated. Once again, I could have cared less. I paid the money, and headed home. I tried out the pen as fast as I could.
Guess what this time? The ink came out beautifully white, and looked great, however when it dried — it dried more like a film of semi-white on black… It looked horrible.
In the end, I decided that my “writes on dark surfaces” sharpie marker would be better suited for the job, and have been using it instead.
All in all, I wasted five dollars on a very bad white ink pen. What has our world come to?
This is a funny story because it is totally something that would happen to me too. At least you got two books out of it :o)
