Christmas Cookies
Christmas Cookies, one of the many joys of Christmas time. Who could dislike the goodies that come along with the Christmas holiday?
On Sunday, my Grandmother and I spent all day making some amazing Christmas Cookies. They are unlike any other, however they are a giant pain in the butt to make.

Don’t they look heart-stopping? My cookies aren’t shaped like reindeer mind you, but rather Christmas trees, candy canes, gingerbread men, and stars. Like I said, these cookies are simply amazing.
They are chocolate cookies and they literally melt in your mouth while you’re eating them, they are almost beyond description.
Now, making these things is definitely time consuming. The batter itself takes almost no time to make, and it is in no way hard to do, however it is the process that follows that is quite annoying. After the batter has been finished, it has to be refrigerated for at least two hours so that it can be firm enough to roll out and cut, or else it will crack apart. It’s a very soft, moist, almost sticky dough, and it’s pretty troublesome if it isn’t refrigerated long enough. After the dough has sat in the refrigerator for a few hours, it’s time to roll the things. So, you roll out all of the day, cut out your desired shapes, and bake. Once again, this part isn’t quite so horrible. However the next part is definitely time consuming. While all of the cookies are baking, or possibly prior to-while they are in the refrigerator, the royal icing has to be made from scratch, separated into small bowls and colored accordingly. This, in itself is time consuming. After the icing is made and the cookies are baked, it’s time to ice the darn things. Decorating about one hundred cookies is possibly one of the most tedious tasks that you may ever do, especially with all of the different colors of icing and small little candies that can be put on them. Hours upon hours are spent icing all of the darn cookies, however once the icing is done, and it has dried to the cookies, it is definitely worth the effort. The cookies are simply amazing! I would advise that you at least make a small batch just for fun.
